Are You Taking Advantage of Free Classes in Your Neighborhood?

Last Thursday, my acting coach, Tom Todoroff, hosted a FREE class at the Drama Book Shop.  All you had to do was show up.  If you wanted to, you could sign yourself up to perform. (And why wouldn’t you!?)

Not only did you have the opportunity to take a FREE acting class, but two members of the Tom Todoroff Acting Conservatory Faculty attended.  It was a great opportunity to get into relationship with distinguished members of the acting community in New York City.  Mari Lyn Henry, author of “How To Be a Working Actor”, and Sue Henderson of HendersonEnterprises.com, were there and open to talking to everyone.  They want to see actors succeed.  They will teaching at the Tom Todoroff Conservatory in the Fall.  For more information, visit www.TomTodoroff.com/Conservatory.

We also had acting coach, John Pallotta attend! Not to mention, all the actors who came to learn and perform.  You never know who you might meet and form life-long bonds with.

Take advantage of FREE!

UCB Sketch 101: Class #2

Had my second Sketch writing class at UCB tonight. We had to bring in a first draft of a Sketch that we wrote based on what we learned from last week.

My Sketch received a lot of laughs. All of my feedback was how to add to the script. None of it was critique. I was pretty proud! I’m really enjoying it.

This week, we are to write commercial parodies. When we bounced ideas off the class, mine received a large laugh (always a good sign in a comedy class!)

I don’t mean to toot my own horn here, but I like to record my successes, so I can look back on them on the bad days that I have to give myself reassurance.

Maybe, one day, I’ll post the drafts here for your spark your Internet flame.

photo Giving feedback about my performance & receiving feedback from Tom Todoroff & class.

David didn’t take pictures of my scene with Kristine the following week because he said he was too busy enjoying watching us and laughing so hard. Oh well! We’ll be doing more work from that play b/c we want to produce it eventually!

photo Me Performing “Screw Loose” in Tom Todoroff’s class a few Monday’s ago. The song is from the Broadway play “Cry Baby”, the picture is of Johnny Depp’s character Cry Baby from the movie by John Waters.

Tom’s NYC studio is in the heart of Times Square, so I guess you could say I sang on Broadway! Lol.

This is probably the most unflattering picture David (fellow producer) could have taken of me. We are getting a better camera for the studio soon, however, so we should be getting better photos!
